Review:
Covermates Elite is the best flat ping pong table cover you can buy. If you're not aware of the company Covermates, let me tell you, they are one of the leading manufacturers of outdoor/indoor equipment covers. Rest assured, the quality of the product is nothing less than excellent.
As the name suggests, this elite cover is designed to protect your table from all-weather elements, be it sun, rain or wind. The cover fits all regulation sized tables, measuring up to 110" Wide x 60" Deep x 30" High.
On the construction front, the cover is made from water-resistant 300D stock-dyed polyester with double-stitched seams for extra durability. 3. Covermates Elite Upright
Review
Third, on our list is another Covermates product – Elite Upright. The only difference is that it is an upright cover designed to fit ping pong tables in the storage position. It fits the majority of the regulation-sized tables up to 60" wide x 28" depth x 60" high when folded.
Similar to its predecessor, it is made with a 12-gauge commercial vinyl which safeguards the table from dust, dirt, and scratches. The waterproof lining keeps the cover in shape, making it easy to take on and off. While the four corners are further reinforced to prevent any accidental tear. And the four bottom buckle straps safely secure the cover, preventing it from flapping/blowing off during the windy weather.
However, the cover does not come with air vents, which means there are chances of mold and mildew formation. If you live in a windy or humid place, you should ideally avoid this cover and opt for Classic Verdana cover instead.
Backed by a 2-years warranty, you do need to worry about keeping your Ping Pong Table out in the open anymore.
Pros
+ Fits most ping pong tables in the upright position
+ Heavy-duty construction
+ 2-year warranty
Cons
- No air vents

Table Tennis Table Cover: Buyer's Guide
So what differentiates a quality cover from a dud one?
It's not rocket science, but you need to keep a couple of factors in mind so that you don't end up buying an inferior product. In this article, you'll know what to look for and what to avoid when purchasing a cover.
Key Considerations
Type
Broadly, the ping pong table covers fall in either of the three categories:
Indoor: As the name suggests, these covers are suitable for indoor usages like inside the club, house, or garage. The covers are usually made of a lighter material and offer a basic level of protection against dust, dirt, and water.
Outdoor: These covers are much sturdier and heavy-duty in comparison to indoor covers. These covers are designed to withstand all-weather elements like sun, wind, rain, and humidity. They are made of higher gauge water-proof materials and are fitted with buckle/hems to prevent the cover from blowing over.
Dual Function: These covers can be used in both indoor as well as outdoor environments. They're usually lightweight but at the same time durable enough to resist outdoor weather.
Upright Vs. Flat
Do you plan to keep your ping pong table flat open or folded-up/upright, or maybe it varies based on your mood? Well, you need to make a firm choice beforehand because an upright cover can't be used on a flat table or vice versa.
An upright cover approximately measures 60''Wx30''Dx60''H and clamps to the middle legs of the table. While the flat covers usually come in a dimension of up to 110" Wide x 60" Deep x 30" High and are attached to the outer table legs.
Material
Now, this is the most crucial part while selecting a cover for your table. The choice of material depends on your environment. If your location is susceptible to high winds or storms, its best to go for a heavy-gauge polyester material with breathable sides. But if you live in a sunny area, you're better off choosing a UV cured material.
The covers which offer the best protection are made out of heavy-duty PVC or vinyl material. Woven polyesters are a distant second, followed by nylon. Tarps/plastic sheets should be avoided at all costs.
Dimension
The cover should snugly fit the table. Larger covers can get caught up in the wind and may even get blown off or torn. They may sag around the sides, holding up rainwater, which may eventually lead to mold and mildew formation.
Depending on how you store your table – upright or flat, measure all the sides keeping a buffer of 1" to 2". Check the measurement against the specs of the cover to see if it would be the right fit or not.
Additional Features
- Covers with double stitched or heat-welded seams are easier to install and offer better water resistance.
- Reinforced corners – This prevents the corners from getting damaged where most of the wear and tear occurs.
- Soft lining – Look for covers with a softer underside. The underneath surface of the cover regularly rubs against the tabletop. Stiffer material can scratch the tabletop surface, instead of protecting it.
- Heavy-duty buckles and elastic hem for a tight fit and to firmly hold the cover in place even on the windiest days.
- Air vents promote air circulation and prevent moisture condensation. Additionally, it helps to limit the effect of the wind by letting the air pass through.
Price
You can get yourself a table cover for as low as $10 and as high as $150. It is best to avoid cheaper covers (less than $30) as they are made with inferior material that tears off easily and may even melt when exposed to high temperatures. Having owned a couple of them in the past few years, I can confidently say that they won't last you for the next Christmas.
It is best to slightly increase your budget and look for a cover which will last you for a long time. A good range is between $50 to $100. Covers in this range are made of durable quality material, well designed, and offer excellent all-round protection.
Spending anything above $100 may be a bit overkill unless you have got a lot of money to spend.
When choosing an outdoor or indoor table cover, you ideally want to pick from a brand you can trust on. The branded covers are costly but pay off in the long-run.

Hi. I have a cornilleau 500m crossover outdoor table. I am looking at the covermate elite flat cover. However, my table’s “arms” for the net extend past the table 6 inches on each side. At a 60 inch width, it does not appear that the covermate cover will fit my table. Any way you can confirm an possible suggest another idea for a comparable or better cover while the table is flat? I already have an upright cover for the table, but I see myself trying to leave it flat for most of the spring/summer.
Hey Mathew,
Kevin James from PingPongbros.com. Thanks for your query.
So, the Covermate elite flat cover fits the Cornilleau 500m. The cover’s actual width is close to 84” if you consider the overhang on either side. So it should easily cover the 6” extended arms with the net on.
Check these pics of the table with the cover on http://prntscr.com/rjdivg, http://prntscr.com/rjdkwj
You see, the cover still sits loose and has enough place to stretch. But make sure you buckle all the straps otherwise it may blow in heavy winds.
Here is the Amazon link of the product: https://amzn.to/2YiUdYJ (select flat cover)
I hope it helps.

Hey Kevin!
I wanted to reach out to you because I just got a beautiful new table for my birthday and I couldn’t be happier! It’s an outdoor table, though I live in the south off Spain so I would like to be able to cover it up when folded. The only problem is that I can’t find a single cover out there on the market that will fit my table’s dimensions!
Length 67″ Width 32″ Height 65″
Do you know any with similar dimensions? If so I would love to know! thank you so much.
Hey Laurent,
Thanks for dropping by and belated birthday wishes. I would be frank here, this looks like an odd dimension. Are you sure the length is 67″ because generally, it should be 60″ or close to it? You might want to look into CORNILLEAU rollaway cover – they’re the largest ones I know of. In between, what’s the model of your outdoor table.
I hope this was helpful.
